A Post-Doctoral positions are available immediately in our laboratory at Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study the function of heavy metal (Cu, Zn, Co, etc.) transporting ATPases Rhizobium meliloti.   The project includes exploring their roles in bacterial interaction with the hosts, regulation mechanisms, determination of metal specificity, etc. In these studies, in addition to classical molecular biology and biochemistry, the fellow will use proteomics, confocal fluorescence microscopy, and metalloprotein analysis.  The positions require a recent Ph.D. in a relevant field, strong motivation, and experience in molecular biology, microbiology, transport biophysics, or metal biology.  Send cover letter, curriculum vitae and names of three references to Dr. José Argüello, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, 01609, USA. arguello@wpi.edu
