A Postdoctoral position in plant stress biology is available immediately in the lab of Eduardo Blumwald, UC Davis Department of Plant Sciences. The successful candidate will participate in ongoing multidisciplinary research projects aimed at the identification and characterization of regulatory networks associated with the tolerance of crop plants to drought stress (see Rivero et al. 2007, PNAS 104:19631-19636; Rivero et al. 2009, Plant Physiology 150:1380-1393).
Applicants should have a Ph.D. with strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry. Additional experience in protein-protein interactions and genomics would be valuable. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment are required. The position is for two years with possibility of extension. Initial appointment is for one year and is renewable depending on satisfactory performance. Salaries are competitive and include benefits.
