Position Description: A postdoctoral researcher position for an outstanding candidate is immediately available to study nanowire and chip-based profiling of cancer signatures under the guidance of Dr. Demir Akin at the School of Medicine at Stanford University. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in an engineering field with substantial experience in biomedical sciences and an aptitude to learn new knowledge quickly. Some areas of needed expertise include the following:
nanofabrication, electrical signal processing, microfluidics, polymeric devices/biosensors, familiarity with device design and simulation software, materials surface functionalization and characterization, cell culture and microscopy. Qualifications: An ideal candidate will have complementary expertise from both engineering and biomedical fields and be able to capitalize on the excellent resources existing within the multi-disciplinary environment of Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence and Translation (CCNE-T) and Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS). All candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as a strong publication record.
