Postdoctoral position in pathogenomics of fungal grape diseases

Compartir

Dario Cantu’s lab in the Department of Viticulture & Enology at UC Davis is seeking a Postdoctoral Research fellow to work on comparative pathogenomics of fungal diseases of grapevines. The selected candidate will use  next-generation sequencing to characterize the genomes and transcriptomes of a variety of fungi that cause economically important diseases in grapevines. The project will include the study of genetic diversity across multiple isolates, the implementation of comparative genomics approaches to identify pathogenicity factors, and the analysis of plant responses to infection. We are looking for candidates with demonstrated experience in genomics or molecular plant-microbe interaction studies. Prior experience with next
generation sequencing data analysis and bioinformatics programming is desirable. Knowledge of Perl/Python, R is a plus, but a strong willingness to learn is required. The position is initially for one year but support is available  for additional years depending on the candidate’s performance and productivity. Please send a CV, a letter of introduction stating why you would be suitable for the position, and the names of two scientists that can provide references to Dr. Dario Cantu, dacantu@ucdavis.edu. The position will remain opened until filled.
